Morning everyone! In my opinion, fudge has always been something intimidating to make. Recently, I figured the sooner I get over my fear, the more fudge I would have in my life! These little cubes of goodness are great for a crowd, or to pack up as a hostess gift for a friend. The recipe is extremely versatile, and the flavors can be changed depending on the occasion and the taste buds of you and your loved ones! Just think… cookies and cream, peanut butter chocolate… EEK the options are endless!
Personally, I always loved the combination of something salty and sweet, so when thinking over the flavor profile for this fudge recipe I knew I had to add a salty component to offset the sweetness. There’s nothing better than a chocolate covered pretzel, let alone a caramel chocolate covered pretzel! This fudge is unbelievably easy, and has a wow factor friends and family will love!
Ingredients
½ cup heavy cream
11 ounces caramel chocolate chips*
1 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
½ cup butter/margarine
7 oz container of marshmallow fluff
½ cup crushed pretzels+½ cup whole pretzels
Directions
1.Line an 8 inch pan with parchment paper. In a bowl add chocolate chips and fluff
2. In a saucepan on the stove combine sugar, butter or margarine, salt and heavy cream. Allow mixture to come to a low boil and let simmer for 5 minutes
3. Pour mixture over the chocolate/fluff and mix well until chocolate is melted and all is combined and smooth. Fold pretzels in and immediately pour into the prepared pan. Top the fudge with whole pretzels, or any topping you desire**
4.Let the fudge cool at room temperature for up to an hour, and then place in the fridge for 2 hours, or overnight. Slice into cubes and enjoy! Make sure to keep this dessert stored in the fridge!
*You can use any other flavored chocolate if you can not find the caramel flavored kind
**I also sprinkled kosher salt on top for some extra salty and sweet action!
